Auditors fine employees of Odesa hospital for financial irregularities

Auditors in Odesa region have fined three officials of the Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 3 in Odesa for financial irregularities totaling UAH 2.6 million.
This was reported by the Southern Office of the State Audit Service.
In particular, the auditors found the following violations:
- In some cases, hospital employees were paid excessive bonuses for working with patients infected with COVID-19, were given salary increases, bonuses and surcharges were established, which led to excessive salary payments and, as a result, hospital losses totaling more than UAH 1.8 million (including unified social tax).
- In violation of the current legislation, material assets (medicines, pharmaceuticals, food products) totaling more than UAH 30 thousand were written off.
The auditors secured reimbursement of the violations in the amount of almost UAH 2.2 million and submitted the audit materials to the Investigation Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.
In total, the hospital employees against whom the auditors drew up administrative reports face a fine of eight to fifteen tax-free minimum incomes.
The state enterprise Reni Sea Commercial Port is accused of abusing its monopoly position. Earlier, state auditors failed to inspect the procurement of the Reni branch of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority" for the repair of berth No. 29 for a total of UAH 14.3 million. During the inspection of the municipal enterprise "Motor Transport Economy of Odesa City Executive Committee" , auditors found financial irregularities worth more than UAH 2.1 million.
