Specialists of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District found three unauthorized landfills in villages in the Avanhardivska village community of Odesa Oblast.
According to the environmentalists, these are the villages of Prylymanske and Nova Dolyna and the village of Khlibodarske. The inspection ordered the community to take measures to eliminate the landfills. As of today, the dumpsites have already been cleaned up in Nova Dolyna village and Khlibodarske village.
In the village of Prylymanske, work continues to clean the coastal protection zone of the water body to prevent further pollution.
Earlier, the owner of a land plot on the territory of the dilapidated former Karl Liebknecht Palace of Culture on Svobody Avenue in Odesa removed an unauthorized landfill.
The Tairova village council of Odesa district also eliminated an unauthorized landfill on its territory. In February 2025, inspectors found a dump of used tires and construction waste near the Tairovo cemetery.
In February, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to the director of a utility company whose negligence led to large-scale fires at a household waste landfill in the village of Dobrozhanove, Odesa district.
Earlier, the State Environmental Inspectors of the Southwestern District found an unauthorized landfill near the village of Kremydivka in Odesa district. As a result of unauthorized dumping of household waste, about 2 hectares of land resources were contaminated, causing pollution. The land user failed to protect the land from negative impact and did not take measures to eliminate the consequences of this impact.
