Plots on the shore of Mykolaiv illegally transferred to private ownership

In Mykolaiv, the courts upheld the prosecutor's office's claims regarding the illegal privatization of land plots on the banks of the Southern Bug River.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the prosecutor's office, in July-October 2025, six claims for land reclamation from legal entities and individuals were satisfied.
As a result, land plots of the water fund with a total area of 6,000 square meters were returned to the territorial community of Mykolaiv. It was established that this land, located within the coastal protection zone of the Southern Bug River, had been illegally transferred to private ownership.
The courts agreed with the prosecutor's arguments that Mykolaiv City Council violated the requirements of land, water and urban planning legislation when it transferred these plots to private ownership for individual housing construction.
The prosecutor's office emphasized that the land in question is located within the coastal protection zone of the Pivdennyi Buh River and belongs to the territory of public green spaces in the city. According to the law, these lands should be exclusively in state or municipal ownership and provide unimpeded access to water bodies for citizens. Providing such plots in private ownership for construction is expressly prohibited.
In addition, it was established that the original purchasers subsequently entered into transactions to alienate the plots in favor of other persons.
The prosecutor's office emphasizes that the protection of coastal strips and water bodies is of particular importance in the context of armed aggression, as the issues of providing the population with drinking water and preserving the water balance are relevant for the region. The work to protect the water fund lands continues.
