The Odesa municipality has issued a recommendation to citizens to avoid spending too much time outdoors due to significant air pollution in the city.

According to the press service of the municipality, the air pollution was caused by five fires that were recorded in the city during the day.

In particular, they started because of an air strike by the Russian occupiers on the city. Therefore, the municipal enterprise "Municipal Center for Environmental Safety" of the Odesa City Council and the State Institution "Odesa Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" are currently monitoring the air quality and promised to report the results later.

To improve the air quality situation, Odesa residents were advised to

  • stay outdoors if possible, especially during periods of intense smoke;
  • keep windows and doors closed to prevent smoke from entering the premises;
  • maintain water balance, drink plenty of water;
  • use a mask or respirator;
  • use air purifiers;
  • do wet cleaning of the premises.

The air attack on Odesa by Russian troops on the night of March 11 resulted in the burning of a children's toy warehouse, a residential building, and a fuel tank. The total area of the fires in the city amounted to 2,780 square meters.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of March 11, 2025 (from 19.00 on March 10), the enemy attacked with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 126 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones.
