Odesa City Hall identifies areas that may sink

The Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies (TES&E) at the Odesa City Council has identified the districts and streets of the city that are at the highest risk of flooding following the September 30 floods.
This was reported by the press service of the mayor's office.
The areas at risk of flooding are:
- Vapnyanaya Street
- Prymorska Street;
- Ataman Holovaty and Black Sea Cossacks streets;
- Velykofontanska Balka (from Dovha Street to Rybalska Balka Street, Zolotyi Bereg Street);
- Vodyana Balka (Balkivska Street);
- Arkadiyska Balka (Central Alley, Genoese Street);
- Preobrazhenskyi residential area (within Uchenivska, Mahistralna and Sosyury streets);
- Umova Street to Promyslova Street;
- Troitske neighborhood within Zhytomyrska, Putivna, Novykova and Malishevskoho streets;
- the eastern and southern parts of the Southwestern residential area (from the 1st station of the Lustdorf Road to Tolbukhin Square);
- Tairova residential area: Korolyova Street, intersection of Kostandi Street;
- Yevhen Chykalenko Street;
- Western part of Peresypskyi district (private sector along the railway);
- Luzanovka;
- Kryva Balka;
- Vikander and Larsen Street (formerly 8 Bereznya Street);
- Chornomorska Balka (Chornomorka village);
- Kovalevsky's Dacha (descent to Monastyrsky Beach);
- Srednefontanskaya gully (10th station of the Big Fountain);
- Karantynna Balka (Karantynnyi and Polskyi descents);
- Frantsuzsky Boulevard - from Akademichna Street to the Health Route;
- Kryzhanivska Balka.

- Prince Yaroslav the Wise Street

In the event of a downpour, Odesa residents were advised not to stay in basements and semi-basements. The associations of co-owners of apartment buildings with underground parking lots were obliged to close access in case of a threat. Residents of the private sector should be prepared to evacuate at the first request of rescuers. If there is a risk of flooding, citizens were advised to leave their homes in advance and contact district administrations. Avoid lowlands, ravines and open spaces during heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service announced that weather conditions are expected to worsen. Starting from the evening of October 3, rain is expected in Odesa, and in Odesa region, in some places, significant rain with thunderstorms, wind gusts up to 17 meters per second.
