In two days, 33 fires were extinguished in Mykolaiv region

During July 21 and on the night of July 22, 33 fires occurred in Mykolaiv region. The majority of them - 27 cases - were caused by dry grass, shrubs, garbage and crop residues. The total area of fires exceeded 23 hectares.
This was reported by the main department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region.
In addition to large-scale fires in natural ecosystems, five fires in private households have been reported in Mykolaiv region over the past day, according to the SES.
In particular, in the city of Nova Odesa of the Novo Odesa community, an outbuilding caught fire, as well as dry vegetation and debris nearby. Rescuers from the 21st State Fire and Rescue Unit extinguished the fire over an area of 300 square meters and prevented it from spreading to a nearby residential building.
A fire broke out on the roof of a two-story building in the Prudy garden society in the Mishkovo-Pohorilivska community of Mykolaiv district. The flames on the area of 25 square meters were quickly extinguished by the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit.
Another fire occurred in the village of Kalynivka in the Snihuriv community. An outbuilding and dead wood caught fire in a private yard. Firefighters of the 24th State Fire and Rescue Unit extinguished the fire on an area of 16 square meters (building) and 1000 square meters (grass) with the participation of local entrepreneurs who helped with water supply. The fire was stopped before it spread to two other buildings and a non-residential building.
A barn was on fire in the village of Novovasylivka, Vradiyivka community, Pervomaisk district. Rescuers of the 13th State Fire and Rescue Unit and the local fire department of Vradiyivka village jointly extinguished the fire on an area of 50 square meters.
Another incident occurred in Mykolaiv: an outbuilding and garbage stored inside caught fire. A crew of the 4th State Fire and Rescue Unit was engaged to extinguish the fire.
In addition, rescuers extinguished a fire of coniferous litter in the Mykhailo-Laryne forest tract of Mykolaiv forestry. The 400-square-meter fire was extinguished by the local fire department of the village of Peresadivka and forestry workers.
Mykolaiv region is currently experiencing a dry period due to extreme heat. The temperature of the soil surface in the fields reaches up to +70°C. Due to the weather conditions, farmers in Mykolaiv region are sometimes ending the growing season ahead of schedule.
On the night of July 11-12, 40 fires broke out in Mykolaiv region overnight, most of them in natural ecosystems. The fire destroyed crops in every district of the region, and in some places damaged private property. Of all the fires, one was caused by enemy shelling, with a total area of over 53 hectares.
