The destruction of the nature of the Crimean Mountains continues in the occupied Crimea. The occupation authorities are building the Bakhchisaray-Yalta road, which passes through mountainous terrain, causing significant environmental damage. This was shared by the so-called "Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea" Yuriy Gotzanyuk.
As part of the construction of the new road, the occupiers are actively conducting drilling and concrete work, as well as removing soil. In total, they have already drilled 36 wells and concreted piles with a total volume of more than 500 cubic meters. According to Mr. Gottsanyuk, the work was behind schedule before, but all the issues are being resolved promptly. The deadline for completing the installation of bored piles is October 25.
Meanwhile, a huge oil slick, formed as a result of a leak in the port of Novorossiysk on August 29, is approaching the shores of the occupied Crimea. According to Sergei Stanichny, who works with the Russian Ministry of Health and Safety, its area is about 350 square kilometers and its volume is at least 10 tons.
The expert notes that in his entire practice, he has never seen such extensive pollution, which is still quite dense. Currently, the slick is located west of Anapa and is moving towards the peninsula, but so far it is south of the Kerch Strait. The local occupation authorities of Crimea have not yet made any official statements regarding this environmental threat.
In Sevastopol, Chersonesos Tavriya is being robbed under the cover of the occupiers. The criminals are acting according to a well-established scheme: illegal excavations, export of ancient artifacts and payment of kickbacks to Russian security forces.
Those who refuse to give up part of their loot are detained. Recently, law enforcement officers detained a man who was carrying a metal detector and a collection of coins that spanned the period from ancient times to the 20th century.
