A series of earthquakes occurred near Odesa region during the week

A series of earthquakes occurred in Romania near the border of Odesa region, mostly in the Vrancea area, during the week of October 13-20.
According to the Romanian National Institute for Research and Development in Earth Physics (INCDFP), the last two occurred on October 20, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
The first one occurred in the Vranca zone near the following towns: 39 km west of Focsani, 70 km east of Sfantu Gheorghe, 72 km north of Buzau, 85 km east of Brasov, 88 km south of Başeu, 90 km southwest of Barlad. And the second one was in Băila district near the following towns: 9 km northeast of Băila, 11 km south of Galati, 63 km west of Izmail, 63 km west of Tulcea, 77 km southeast of Foxhounds, 96 km east of Buzau.
The latest earthquake was described by Digi24 as an airborne one.
"Earthquakes are not very common in this area where this earthquake occurred, but there are still about six earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 2 in a 3 kilometer radius around this epicenter. So this did not come out of nowhere. At the boundary between the earth and air, when a mechanical wave reaches, there is a chance that it will be converted into a sound wave. This phenomenon has occurred repeatedly, that is, during several earthquakes, when earthquakes occurred in the Galati area, because residents there complained that they first heard an explosion and then felt an earthquake - this is a phenomenon: the transformation of mechanical energy into a sound wave," the publication quoted Mihai Diaconescu, a seismologist at the National Institute of Earth Physics.
The Vrancea seismic zone is one of the most active and dangerous seismic zones in Europe. It is located in the Carpathian Mountains, in the east of Romania, mainly within the Vranca County, which gave this geological area its name. Vranca is capable of generating strong earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 7. Due to its great depth, tremors are often felt over large areas: in Romania itself, Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Odesa region in particular.
One earthquake occurred on October 19, 17, 16, and 15, and two on October 14, and before that, two earthquakes occurred in the evening of October 12 and in the morning of October 13 in the Vrancea seismic zone and were felt in Odesa region.
