Odesa resident joins the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Foundation

Oleksandra Kovalchuk, Deputy Director of the Odesa Art Museum, has joined the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Foundation (UCHF).
The new board was presented by the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.
The new board was presented during a meeting on Ukraine's cultural heritage and architecture in Paris as part of the Voyage en Ukraine season in France.
The Council includes experts and representatives of international and Ukrainian institutions with experience in the field of cultural heritage protection, finance, and cultural project management.
The next step will be to announce an open competition for the position of the Foundation's Executive Director, who is scheduled to be appointed in March this year. The UCHF Board of Directors is to play a key role in determining the Foundation's strategic priorities and making decisions on financing restoration projects.
The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Foundation (UCHF) was registered in Brussels in October 2025 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage (ALIPH). The UCHF was launched at an informal meeting of the Ministers of Culture and Media on November 3, 2025 in Copenhagen.
It is expected that the first tasks of the Council will be to select and fund restoration projects for more than 1,600 cultural heritage sites damaged by Russian aggression.
Earlier, a team of volunteers was created in Odesa to respond to damage to cultural sites after shelling. The newly created group has undergone specialized training that allows them to work together with museums, libraries and other city institutions during crisis situations.
