Nearly ten months in Russian captivity, the loss of his father, and a constant struggle for survival form the basis of Oleksii Anuli’s documentary book. In Odesa, the former prisoner of war presented his autobiographical book, which has already gained attention beyond Ukraine’s borders and is helping to draw attention to Russia’s crimes.
This was reported by an Intenta correspondent.
A presentation of the autobiographical documentary book “Jingle bellZ” by former prisoner of war Oleksiy Anulitook place in Odesa .The book recounts his experience in Russian captivity, torture, the indomitable human spirit, and the struggle for life. It is based on real events the author experienced after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Immediately after February 24, 2022, Oleksiy and his father, Yuriy, joined the defense of the Chernihiv region. They took part in battles, including the fight for the village of Lukashivka. During the occupation, Russian troops captured both men. According to the author, his father was tortured and killed, while he was sent to captivity, where he spent nearly ten months and endured numerous acts of torture.

In the book, the author describes in detail the conditions under which Ukrainians were held in Russian detention facilities and bears witness to the crimes suffered by military and civilian prisoners.
The idea to write the book came to Oleksiy Anuli while he was undergoing rehabilitation in Latvia after his release from captivity. To help him recall his experiences down to the smallest details, the Latvian government provided him with a house where conditions were recreated to be as close as possible to those he had endured in captivity. It was there that the book *Jingle BellZ* was born. Its first presentation took place on May 4, 2025, in the Latvian city of Ogre.

The Ukrainian-language version of the former prisoner of war’s book *Jingle BellZ* went on sale in April 2026. The author is currently planning to translate the book into other languages. In the future, there are also plans to present *Jingle BellZ* in various cities across Ukraine.

Also, in early June, a literary evening in Odesa turned into a discussion about human nature, internal conflicts, and the line between good and evil.Oleg Palchikov, author of the novel*Antinomist*,explainedhow his service on the front lines, Jung’s philosophy, and the work of David Lynch shaped the atmosphere of his debut book.
