The former head of the Odesa National Art Museum , Oleksandra Kovalchuk, who is currently the deputy director of development at the museum, has become the executive director of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Foundation.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy Tetiana Berezhna.

According to her, Oleksandra Kovalchuk will head the General Secretariat of the Foundation and will coordinate the work in cooperation with Ukrainian and international partners.

"UCSF is moving to operational work and launching the first programs to protect and preserve Ukrainian cultural heritage. The priorities include stabilization of monuments damaged by Russia, support for museums and specialists, protection of evacuated collections and documentation of cultural heritage under threat. Oleksandra Kovalchuk has over 10 years of experience in museum management, cultural policy, and international partnerships. She contributed to the transformation of the Odesa National Art Museum, and after the outbreak of full-scale war she headed the NGO Museum for Change, which supported more than 200 museums across Ukraine," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Foundation (UCHF) was registered in Brussels in October 2025 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage (ALIPH). The UCHF's activities began at an informal meeting of the Ministers of Culture and Media held in Copenhagen on November 3, 2025.

In February, Oleksandra Kovalchuk joined the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Foundation (UCHF). The new board was presented during a meeting on Ukraine's cultural heritage and architecture in Paris as part of the Voyage en Ukraine season in France.
