On January 17, the new Odesa-based project Let's See organized a special screening of the documentary Cuba and Alaska, which was attended by the film's protagonist, Yulia "Cuba" Sidorova.

As Yulia Demchenkova-Rives , the organizer of the screening, told Intent's correspondent, the choice of the film was due to the fact that previously in Odesa, Cuba and Alaska was shown at an inconvenient time - in the middle of the day on weekdays.

"This film was hardly ever shown in Odesa, and it was an inconvenient time, very briefly, on a weekday, in the middle of the day. I couldn't watch it myself because of work, but I knew it was a very cool movie. I wanted to show it at VydelkaFest, but it didn't work out," she said.

More than 40 people came to the screening, which, according to Yulia Demchenkova-Rives, is quite a lot for the small More Music Club, so now Let's See is looking for a bigger venue.

The film Cuba and Alaska is a 2025 documentary project by director Yehor Troianovskyi. The film is dedicated to two Ukrainian paramedics Yulia Sydorova (Cuba) and Oleksandra Lysytska (Alaska). The film is based on real footage shot with GoPro cameras, as well as on phone videos and personal messages. The film Cuba and Alaska was created by producer Hannah Flipo and composer Frederik Van de Mortel. The project is a co-production of Ukraine, Belgium and France. The documentary has already won the Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the Brussels International Film Festival BRIFF, as well as an award at the Central Scotland Documentary Festival.
