Odesa short film wins the main award of the European Film Association

The Odesa-based short film Remote Consequences won the main award of the European Film Association Ardélion for the best short film. The film was shot in Odesa during the time of the bombings and explosions.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
The short film Ever After, directed by Kateryna Molokopeyeva, won the main award for Best Short Film from the European Film Association Ardélion. The film was the only Ukrainian film to be shown on the big screen of the ceremony and received a long standing ovation from over 500 participants.
The film is dedicated to people who survived the war and lost their loved ones. There are no explosions or battle scenes in the movie - only deep silence and an emotional space in which pain can be heard. After the screening, one of the soldiers left a comment:"We are all 300."
The filming took place in Odesa during air raids and explosions. A mostly female team worked on the project: screenwriter Oksana Prysiazhniuk(Ksenia Zastavska), director Kateryna Molokopieieva, cinematographer Alisa Kuznetsova, and producer Natalia Delieva.
The first screening of the film took place at the front, in the open air, where it was watched by soldiers on a tablet. The world premiere took place at an anti-war festival in Estonia, and later the film was presented in the United States, Cyprus, Germany, Romania, Italy and the Netherlands.
The victory at Ardélion was the seventh award for the film Long-Term Consequences.
When the world sees our truth, we become stronger. Every victory in culture brings us closer to the Main Victory," said producer Natalia Delieva.
In October, director Kamila Boychenko from Kilia, Odesa region, received a Special Award from the Association of Polish Filmmakers as part of the Warsaw Next program at the Industry Days section of the 41st Warsaw Film Festival. She was awarded the prize for her film Black Handkerchief.
Also in early October, the jury of the 16th Odesa International Film Festival announced the winners in various nominations, who were awarded diplomas and GoldenDuke statuettes this year. The main prize in the Best European Feature Film category went to the film Six Days in Spring, directed by Joaquim Lafosse.
