Author of the Garden of Sculptures at the Odesa Literary Museum dies

Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, researcher at the Odesa Literary Museum Leonid Liptuga died on September 2.

This was reported by the Department of International Cooperation, Culture and Marketing of the Odesa City Council.

Leonid Liptuga was the author of the museum projects "Garden of Sculptures" and "Odesa Courtyard". He is also the father of Ivan Liptuga, Director of the Department of International Cooperation.

"His entire life, efforts, and creative energy were devoted to Odesa, its culture, history, Odesa Literary Museum, and Odessans. The bright memory of him will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues," the department said.

The "Sculpture Garden" of the Odesa Literary Museum has 17 compositions and was opened in 1995. In 2022, Leonid Liptuga was named the winner of the Yan Gelman Prize, an annual award ceremony founded and held by the KVN team "Gentlemen of Odesa University" in memory of their artistic director, screenwriter, playwright, and legendary KVN champion.

In August, the staff of the Odesa Young Spectator Theater announced the death of actress Lyudmila Lanets, who had worked at the theater for 45 years. In addition to her roles in the theater, the actress actively acted in films in roles and episodes, for example, in series mostly co-produced by Ukraine and Russia, such as "The Smile of God, or a Purely Odesa Story," "Liquidation," and "Cheater" - 13 films in total.

In July, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Odesa announced the death of artist Volodymyr Naumets, whom the museum called the first Odesa conceptualist. The museum emphasized that Volodymyr Naumets was a particularly close figure to them.
