A corner of Crimea was organized in the Kyiv Botanical Garden in honor of the Indigenous Peoples' Day

The holiday was held in honor of the Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krymchaks, who historically lived in Crimea and for whom the peninsula is their native land.
This was reported by the online publication Evening Kyiv.
About seven hundred Kyiv residents joined the celebration. They celebrated the Day of Indigenous Peoples in the area of climbing plants, where they arranged a corner of Crimea and hung information signs with the names of settlements: Yalta, Bakhchisarai, Yevpatoria and others. These are the native places for many Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Crimean Tatars who left to escape the occupation and have not been able to return home for more than 10 years.
Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, emphasized in his speech that Crimea is the homeland of the Crimean Tatars and part of Ukraine. He recalled the statement of the Mejlis on the occasion of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples and expressed confidence that the day of liberation of Crimea from Russian occupation would be a day of restoration of rights and dignity for both the indigenous peoples of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian political nation.
The situation of the indigenous peoples and what the Ukrainian state is doing for them were further discussed by the Permanent Representative of the President in the AR of Crimea Olga Kuryshko, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience Viktor Yelensky, Head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Oleksandr Alfiorov and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa.
More than half a thousand Ukrainian frequencies, both radio and television, were lost due to Russian aggression. Broadcasters in the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula and Kherson region suffered the greatest losses.
