In the Mykolaiv region, a former warehouse manager at a military unit was notified of charges against him. Law enforcement officials believe that, due to his negligence, the state suffered losses of property and equipment totaling nearly 900,000 hryvnias.

This was reported by the Southern Region Defense Prosecutor’s Office.

The man is currently charged with negligence in the performance of military duties under martial law, which caused significant damage to the state.

Law enforcement officials reported that the suspect is currently partially compensating the state for the losses incurred.

The case file indicates that from January 2022 through July 2025, the suspect effectively failed to maintain proper records of military property. According to law enforcement officials, he issued the property without documentation, failed to maintain inventory records of the property’s availability and movement, did not prepare distribution reports, and did not properly monitor its storage.

The prosecutor’s office notes that, as a result, a significant shortage of military supplies arose at the military unit’s warehouse. Among the lost items are more than 200 sets of field uniforms, 248 protective armor plates, over 140 combat shirts, 123 sleeping bags, over 440 belts, as well as raincoats, insulated jackets, hearing protection, load-bearing equipment, and other military gear intended to support service members.
