The SBU CI exposed another collaborator working with Russian occupants in the temporarily occupied territory of Mykolaiv region. The woman not only supported the aggressor after the occupation of part of the region, but also actively participated in the implementation of Kremlin scenarios and information warfare against Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region.

According to the investigation, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the suspect lived in the village of Pokrovka, Ochakiv community. After the seizure of part of Mykolaiv region, she voluntarily sided with the occupiers and subsequently headed a pseudo-electoral body created by the invaders.

In this position, the woman organized an illegal referendum on the so-called "accession" of Ukrainian territories to the Russian Federation. In addition, in September 2023, she became a member of the occupation election commission on the Kinburn Peninsula and participated in the fake "elections" to the so-called "regional duma of the Kherson region".

Investigators also found that the suspect actively appeared on Russian propaganda media. In her statements, she denied the existence of Ukraine as a sovereign state, justified Russia's armed aggression and called for the complete seizure of Ukrainian territories.

A separate area of her activity was information cooperation with the enemy. The woman created and administered the Kinburn Pravda Telegram channel, through which she collected and transmitted data on the location of Ukrainian military units on the territory of the Ochakiv community to the occupiers. In her posts, she urged users to report coordinates, information about equipment, locations and personnel of the Ukrainian defense forces.

The forensic linguistic examination confirmed the facts of her subversive activities and the spread of propaganda of the aggressor state.

Based on the collected evidence, the SBU investigators served the suspect a notice of suspicion in absentia under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • high treason (Part 2 of Art. 111)
  • collaboration (Part 5 of Art. 111-1);
  • justification and denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation (part 2 of article 436-2).

The suspect is currently hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of Mykolaiv region. If proven guilty, she faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Also in Mykolaiv, the trial of Eduard Shevchenko, a former intelligence officer and former commander of the 73rd Naval Center of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is accused of treason, continues.
