A court in Mykolaiv has seized the property of suspects of spying for the Russian Federation. During the search, law enforcement officers seized phones, laptops, hard drives, money and documents recognized as material evidence.
This is evidenced by the decision of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.
According to the investigation, two residents of Mykolaiv maintained contacts with unidentified representatives of Russian special services via the Telegram messenger and performed their tasks.
The suspects collected intelligence information about units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, as well as carried out activities aimed at harming the state.
According to investigators, in January 2026, they allegedly set up a cache near a metal garage on 3 Slobidska Street. The suspects used several cars to carry out their illegal activities. The same month, law enforcement officers searched the home of one of the suspects.
During the search, law enforcement officers found forms of IDs with the inscription "Ukraine. Volunteer ID": six in red and one in green. Among them were a certificate of the NGO "Universe for Ukraine" issued on June 1, 2023, and a certificate of the charitable foundation "Free Ukraine" issued on April 11, 2024.
In addition, they seized mobile phones of various brands, a bank card, money, laptops, hard drives, memory cards, a system unit and a video recorder. Among the seized items were also messenger accounts, including Telegram.
The investigator recognized the seized property as material evidence in the criminal proceedings. The court partially granted the investigator's motion and seized the property seized during the search until the investigation is completed.
Also, a resident of Mykolaiv, who had been working for enemy special services for a year and a half, will spend the next 15 years behind bars. The court found the 66-year-old man guilty of high treason and illegal possession of weapons.
The man began his cooperation with the occupiers in February 2023. He became the 'eyes' of the enemy in Mykolaiv: he tracked the location of the Armed Forces units and searched for strategic enterprises of the defense industry. A separate task was to report on the results of the arrivals - the traitor passed on data on the destruction of both military and civilian facilities.
