A deputy of the Genichesk City Council was put in the dock for cooperating with the occupation authorities of the Russian Federation. He turned his own business into a tool to serve the interests of the aggressor state.
This is evidenced by the verdict of the Kherson City Court.
According to the investigation, the entrepreneur, while in occupied Henichesk, deliberately registered under Russian law and entered into contracts with illegally created authorities. In particular, he cooperated with the so-called structures of the Judicial Department and the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in Kherson region.
It was about performing car repairs and maintenance for the occupation authorities. The total amount of the concluded contracts was more than 270 thousand Russian rubles, which were paid from the budget formed by the occupation authorities.
The case was considered in absentia, as the accused is in the temporarily occupied territory and is a fugitive from justice.
The court sentenced the businessman to 4 years in prison with confiscation of property. He is also banned from holding public office and working in state and municipal institutions for 12 years.
According to media reports, the man in question is Dmytro Holoborodko, an entrepreneur and resident of Henichesk. In 2020, he was elected as a deputy of the Henichesk City Council from the Left Opposition party, of which he is also a member.
According to his 2020 declaration, he owns two residential buildings with a total area of over 300 square meters, as well as land plots.
In particular, the declarant owns a 57.5-square-meter house purchased in 2013 for UAH 124,638. He also owns another house of 256.7 square meters, which cost UAH 421,080. In addition, he owns a 35.3-square-meter shop worth UAH 22,914.
Among the land assets is a 912-square-meter plot, the value of which is not indicated in the declaration. His wife, Nargiz Holoborodko, owns a 104-square-meter land plot worth UAH 12,327, as well as a 48.5-square-meter shop worth UAH 44,669.
The family's car fleet consisted of two cars: He had a 2010 Honda Accord worth UAH 180,000, and his wife had a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer worth UAH 96,000. Holoborodko 's main income is from his business, which brought him UAH 897,844 that year. His wife declared a much more modest income of UAH 10,898.
The former Kherson city council official also made a career leap after the city was seized, but under the occupiers' flag. He moved from the mayor's office to the head of a pseudo-ministry, becoming one of the faces of the Russian administration. The court imposed a pre-trial restraint on him in the form of detention.
