A servicemember of the TCC and SP was sentenced to prison in Odesa. The defendant, along with other members of the alert group, forcibly detained a civilian without police involvement or legal grounds.

This is stated in the verdict of the Primorsky District Court of Odessa.

During the trial, the defendant fully admitted his guilt and actively cooperated in solving the crime.

For the abduction, the court sentenced him to two years in prison; however, due to a prior sentence he had not yet served, the final sentence amounted to five years and one month. Until the verdict takes effect, the man will remain under nighttime house arrest, after which he will be taken into custody.

The court emphasized that the military personnel’s actions violated the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, as members of the alert team did not have the authority to independently detain citizens or use coercion against them.

The case file indicates that the incident occurred on April 13 near the Kyiv Market in Odesa. The convicted servicemember, while serving as part of a team tasked with notifying individuals of draft age, detained a local resident together with other military personnel without the involvement of police officers.

The victim was forcibly shoved into a service vehicle, where he was held against his will, threatened, subjected to physical violence, and demanded to provide his personal information. At the time, the convicted soldier was recording the events on video and facilitated the man’s subsequent transfer to a military unit.
