The director of a Kherson driving school, Yuriy Knyga, was convicted of participating in a scheme to illegally issue driver's licenses. Through fictitious training and exams, people who had not actually been trained received the documents.

This is evidenced by the verdict of the Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the case, law enforcement officers exposed a scheme to receive bribes for issuing driver's licenses without actually taking training and passing exams. The scheme operated in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

The scheme involved intermediaries, employees of the MIA service centers and representatives of driving schools. In exchange for money, clients were promised to get their driving school graduation documents, pass theoretical and practical exams, and then receive a driver's license.

According to the ruling, the director of Talisman-Auto, Yuriy Knyha, issued certificates of completion of theoretical or practical training to people who had not actually received such training. These documents were the basis for the candidates' admission to the exams at the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The so-called clients transferred from 2 to more than 14 thousand hryvnias for fictitious training and assistance in obtaining a driver's license of various categories. Part of the money was transferred to driving school employees for preparing forged documents.

The documented cases include the preparation of documents on completion of training for persons applying for A, A1, B, B1 and C categories.

As a result of the investigation, the man was sentenced to five years in prison, but was released from serving the sentence with a probationary period of three years. He was also banned from holding positions related to the organization of driver training for two years.

As Intent previously reported, the scheme was organized by a former law enforcement officer who involved a group of accomplices in the crime, including employees of service centers in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, as well as directors of driving schools.
