He evaded conscription and glorified Russia: The SBU detained a man from Kherson

SBU officers detained two pro-Kremlin agitators in Kherson. They defended Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and expressed support for the Russians.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
One of the suspects—a local unemployed man who had evaded mobilization— wasidentified by the SBU’s counterintelligence unit for spreading disinformation about the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He supported the Russian occupation administrations in the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.
Without leaving his home for the most part, the man regularly posted messages in support of Russian imperialism in Telegram chats.
The second person detained was a local seamstress. She posted messages supporting a full-scale war against Ukraine and the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories.
In addition to Kherson, the SBU detained pro-Kremlin agitators in Cherkasy and Okhtyrka in the Sumy region. In total, four people were detained across the three regions.
In Cherkasy, a local unemployed woman was placed under suspicion for referring to Russia’s armed aggression as an “internal conflict” and calling for the seizure of Ukraine.
In the Sumy region, a resident of Okhtyrka called for the occupation of the Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions and endorsed strikes against Ukrainian cities.
During searches, authorities seized smartphones, computer equipment containing evidence of the crimes, and pro-Russian symbols from the detainees.
A forensic linguistic analysis confirmed that the suspects were engaged in subversive information activities in the interests of the Russian Federation. Investigators notified them that they were suspects under three articles of the Criminal Code:
- Art. 436-2 — justifying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression;
- Part 1 of Article 161 — incitement of ethnic hatred;
- Part 1 of Article 110 — encroachment upon the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The suspects face up to 8 years in prison and confiscation of property.
