The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office has served a notice of suspicion to the director of a state-owned enterprise of fraudulent transactions with state property.

According to the press service of the prosecutor's office, he is charged with embezzlement of property committed on a particularly large scale.

The investigation revealed that the enterprise in question is an experimental farm and is engaged in growing grain crops in the field of seed science and variety research in one of the districts of Odesa region.

The company uses part of the grown products for scientific needs, and sells the rest of the harvest, including to pay the salaries of its employees. Investigators found that during 2019-2020, the director of the farm, using his official position, organized the sale of agricultural products to a grain trader at low prices that did not correspond to market prices. The director repeatedly gave instructions to ship the products to the buyer.

In this way, in 2019, the experimental farm sold more than 1,30 tons of wheat and almost 350 tons of barley, and in 2020 - more than 190 tons of wheat. As a result of the deliberate underestimation of grain prices, the state-owned enterprise suffered more than UAH 3.8 million in damage.

If his guilt is proven, the man faces imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.

Earlier, the Fifth Administrative Court of Appeal confirmed the legitimacy of the tax authority's claims to invalidate supply agreements that resulted in tax invoices worth over UAH 111 million.
