In Odesa, a court dismissed criminal proceedings against the director of a transportation company who was suspected of tax evasion. The company reimbursed the budget for the losses incurred and paid a fine.

The Center for Public Investigations examined the details of the case.

According to the investigation, from July 2024 to March 2025, the CEO of Pivnich Trans LLC included fictitious transactions in his tax returns for the purchase of transportation services, diesel fuel, and other goods from seven companies.

The total amount of these transactions exceeded 38.6 million hryvnias. Law enforcement officials estimated that, as a result, the state budget lost more than 7 million hryvnias in VAT. On August 31, 2026, the director of Pivnich Trans LLC was notified of the charges against him.

At the end of August, the company transferred the full amount of unpaid taxes to the budget, as well as a 231,400 hryvnia fine. In addition, the company donated one million hryvnias to two military units, and the director reimbursed 66,000 hryvnias in costs for a forensic economic examination.

After the damages were reimbursed, the prosecutor requested that the director be exempted from criminal liability. The suspect himself agreed.
