A scheme with medical certificates to evade mobilization surfaces in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, doctors were exposed who were issuing fake disability certificates for money to evade mobilization. They demanded thousands of dollars for their "services" and accompanied clients at all stages of the scheme.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, in September 2025, a surgeon who was a member of the expert team for assessing human functioning, together with an orthopedic surgeon, offered a man who was subject to mobilization to "resolve the issue" of obtaining a third group of disability.

The cost of this service was 11 thousand US dollars. The money had to be transferred in two stages: 5 thousand at first, and the rest after receiving the disability status.
To carry out the fraud, the doctors produced forged documents, created the appearance of hospital treatment, and instructed clients on how to imitate symptoms during the assessment.

In April, the doctors were detained immediately after receiving the second part of the bribe. They were notified of suspicion of obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and taking a bribe.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized more than $100,000, 3,600 euros and more than 200,000 hryvnias, as well as cell phones with evidence and fake medical documents.
The court imposed a custodial measure of restraint on the suspects. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement officers identify other possible participants in the scheme.

Also at the end of March, a military serviceman of the TCC was exposed in Mykolaiv, who promised to "solve the issue" with military registration for money. According to the investigation, the suspect promised to influence officials and enter false information into the Oberih state register in exchange for a reward. The suspect estimated his "services" at $600.
