The High Council of Justice has once again suspended Igor Maksymovych, a judge of the Kalanchak District Court, and is preparing to dismiss him.
This was reported by the High Council of Justice.
On November 2, 2026, the First Disciplinary Chamber of the High Council of Justice decided to hold Maksymovych accountable under disciplinary proceedings and to submit a motion for his dismissal from office.
Under the law, the judge is automatically suspended from administering justice until the High Council of Justice issues a decision on his dismissal or overturns the disciplinary chamber’s decision.
Media reports indicated that Maksymovych had previously been suspended from judicial duties in connection with criminal proceedings.
According to the prosecution, he arranged through an intermediary to receive 35,000 hryvnias in exchange for dismissing a case involving driving under the influence.
On February 18, 2026, the judge dismissed the administrative case due to the absence of an incident and the lack of elements of an offense. According to the prosecution, on February 23, the intermediary received 35,000 hryvnias, of which he passed 30,000 on to the judge and kept 5,000 for himself. During a search of Maksymovych’s residence on March 4, investigators, according to the prosecution, seized 25,000 hryvnias.

Maksymovych’s guilt has not been established by the court. Until a guilty verdict becomes final, he is presumed innocent.
In his annual financial disclosure statement, Judge Ihor Maksymovych reported 1.49 million hryvnias in salary, 178,300 hryvnias in pension, as well as 12,400 hryvnias in compensation and subsidies. His wife declared 612,900 hryvnias in pension benefits.
The family owns an apartment in Avdiivka, land plots, two offices in Chornomorsk, and residential buildings in the Odesa and Kirovohrad regions. The declaration also lists an unfinished house with an area of 204 square meters in Molodizhne and a 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado valued at 40,000 hryvnias.
