Investigators in Odesa have sent to court the case of a man who illegally built a warehouse on the land of a local community.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers found that the owner of a limited liability company illegally used an adjacent land plot owned by the city of Odesa to expand his business. Without any construction permits, he hired workers and erected a 342.7-square-meter building, which he planned to use as a warehouse.

According to Yevhen Yeremeychuk, senior investigator of the territorial police unit, based on sufficient evidence, including the conclusion of a forensic construction and technical examination, the defendant was charged with unauthorized construction of buildings on an illegally occupied land plot. The unauthorized building was seized. According to the current legislation, the maximum penalty for this offense is up to three years in prison.

Earlier, in Odesa region, the head of a farm was seized of his land. The case involves the forgery of documents about the death of crops in order to receive compensation from the state. The director of the farm "Byanov D.V." is suspected of misappropriation of public funds through forgery. According to law enforcement, he deliberately entered false information about the death of crops to receive the maximum possible subsidy from the state, although the farm did not actually own these crops.

Also in early February, police sent to court an indictment against a resident of Odesa who is suspected of having illegally built a recreation center on community land.
