The murderers of the son of the deputy mayor of Kharkiv were a former customs officer from Odesa and the son of a businessman from Bukovyna. They were detained in Odesa for the bloody murder of a Ukrainian in Vienna.

This was reported by Detective.INFO.

On November 25, 2025, 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen Danil Kuzmin, the son of Deputy Kharkiv Mayor Serhiy Kuzmin, was brutally murdered in Vienna. Information about the violent death of the young man, whose profile was included in the list of missing persons in Austria, was reported.

The young man's body was found in the back seat of a completely burnt-out Mercedes car in the Donaustadt district. An autopsy revealed numerous lifelong injuries and burns to almost 80% of his body, as well as damage to his teeth. No signs of smoke inhalation were found in the lungs, leading investigators to assume that the victim may have been dead before the arson or lived for a very short time afterwards.

According to local media, Austrian publications were the first to report the death of the Ukrainian, without specifying his last name. On December 2, the Vienna State Criminal Police Office held a press conference during which Gerhard Winkler announced a preliminary version of the crime. According to him, the murder and torture of Kuzmin is likely to be linked to a financial motive: a significant amount of money disappeared from the victim's crypto wallets.

During the event, it was officially reported that the persons involved in the crime had been identified and detained in Ukraine. They were a 45-year-old man and a 19-year-old boy, the younger of whom studied at the same university in Vienna as the deceased.

As for the suspects, one of them is 45-year-old Oleksandr Agoiev, a former employee of the Odesa Customs of the State Fiscal Service, at one time the head of the customs clearance department No. 1 of the Akkerman customs post, from whom about $90 thousand was seized. The second suspect is 19-year-old Bohdan Rynzhuk, the son of Ivan Rynzhuk, a well-known businessman in Bukovyna and former director of the Kalynivka market. His father had previously been suspected of financial fraud, but was acquitted by the court in 2021. It is known that this was due to the activities of Gemma LLC, where Rynzhuk Sr. was involved in financial abuse, and Bohdan's stepmother is the former Ukrainian ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesia Ilashchuk.

The de jure detention of the two suspects, who were put on the international wanted list on November 27 under Articles 75, 99, 125, 126, 144 and 145 of the Austrian Criminal Code, took place on November 29 in the evening on Zdorovye Highway in Odesa.

On December 2, the Kyiv District Court of Odesa imposed a 40-day temporary arrest on the detainees. The Austrian law enforcement agencies clarified that the extradition of the Ukrainians would not be requested, and after the procedure is completed, the case will continue to be investigated by Ukrainian law enforcement.
