TCC inspector in Odesa region detained on suspicion of receiving USD 2 thousand bribe

Law enforcement officers notified the inspector of the district territorial center for recruitment and social support of suspicion of extortion and receiving a bribe for securing a reservation for mobilization.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region.
According to the investigation, the man demanded 2,500 dollars from an employee of a company. In return for this amount, he promised not to mobilize him, but to help him register for military service and get a reservation at work to avoid military service.
Law enforcement officers reported that they had documented the military's illegal actions and detained him in a procedural manner when he received the agreed amount. Investigators seized the money as material evidence.
Based on the evidence collected, the police served the inspector with a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - obtaining an undue advantage for himself for not performing and performing in the interests of the person providing the undue advantage any action using his official position, combined with extortion of undue advantage.
This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.
The court imposed on the suspect a custodial measure of restraint with the right to be released on bail in the amount of UAH 448 thousand.
Earlier, an officer of the recruitment and staffing department of the Odesa regional TCC and JV was caught in the false declaration of property and assets worth more than UAH 3.8 million. The audit found that the official of the Odesa Regional TCC and JV failed to declare a land plot, an apartment he used, two apartments of his daughter, understated the value of his own apartment, three cars and a motorcycle, and concealed corporate rights.
