Spy informs enemy about Ukrainian air defense at poultry farm in Mykolaiv region and goes to jail for 10 years

A man from Mykolaiv region was sentenced to 10 years in prison for passing information about the location of military units to the enemy. He denied his guilt, but the court rejected his explanation due to evidence of systematic correspondence.
This was reported by the Court Reporter with reference to the court' s verdict.
According to the investigation, in April last year, he started a correspondence on the social network Telegram with a user who, according to the investigation, created pro-Russian channels, chats and bots.
In July 2024, the accused reported that "Nazis" were at a local poultry farm, and that there was a checkpoint of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and possibly an air defense system.
Five days later, he sent information about the location of the military unit with six screenshots of the map, and a little later - information about another military unit, describing the buildings on the territory and noting that he had not noticed any heavy equipment.
In court, the man denied his guilt, claiming that he did not send these messages because his phone was being repaired and someone else could have used it.
However, the court rejected this version, taking into account the duration, regularity of the correspondence and the location from which it was sent. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
In early June, counterintelligence exposed two Russian agents who were passing intelligence on Ukrainian combat aircraft in Kyiv and Mykolaiv regions to the enemy. One of them is a mobilized military man from Mykolaiv region, and the other is a woman from the capital region who agreed to cooperate with the FSB for money.
A resident of Mykolaiv was also sentenced to 15 years in prison for passing on the coordinates of Ukrainian military and civilian targets to the FSB. He offered to launch missile strikes on the city, in particular with the help of Kinzhal systems. The Russian agent sold the geolocations of civilian infrastructure - objects without military significance, but potential targets for missile attacks.
