The SBU detained a resident of Kirovohrad region who worked for Russian special services. The man was preparing explosives in Mykolaiv and passing information about the military to the enemy.

This is evidenced by the decision of the Central Court of Mykolaiv.

A resident of Kirovohrad region, who worked for Russian special services, was detained in Mykolaiv. According to the investigation, the man passed intelligence to the occupiers, searched for explosives for terrorist attacks and collected information about the Ukrainian military.

The investigation found that around June 2025, he was recruited by a Russian intelligence officer via the Telegram messenger. Using a pseudonym, the agent received tasks from his supervisor and regularly reported on their implementation.

In early June, the traitor arrived in Mykolaiv, where he had to find and prepare for the explosion an improvised explosive device left by other agents. After that, he informed the Russian coordinator that he had found the explosive and returned home to wait for new instructions.

A few days later, the explosive device he had prepared was used by other saboteurs in an attempted terrorist attack. One of the perpetrators was detained at the scene.

Later, the agent received a new task - to find a "cache" with electronic detonators in Sumy region, and then to collect information about a Ukrainian soldier in Pavlohrad. He took pictures of houses and vehicles and passed this information to representatives of the Russian special services. The man was later detained by the SBU.

He was notified of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court left him in custody without bail.

In early October, the SBU counterintelligence, together with the Ministry of Defense, foiled an attempt by Russian agents to infiltrate one of the leading defense plants in the south of the country.

A woman working for Russian intelligence was detained in Mykolaiv who was trying to pass on information about the location of the plant's facilities and state defense orders to the occupiers. She involved her live-in partner, an employee of the company's logistics department who had access to the necessary materials, in collecting the information.
