Odesa region: SBU detains leadership of former MSEC

The Security Service of Ukraine eliminated another scheme of mobilization evasion in the south of Ukraine. In Odesa region, the head and two members of the local expert team for assessing the daily functioning of a person (formerly MSEC), who were selling fake medical certificates, were detained.
This was reported by the SBU press service.
For amounts starting from USD 3 thousand, they issued groundless conclusions for men about the alleged presence of serious illnesses with the subsequent establishment of a disability group.
To be able to issue fake medical documents, the organizer of the fraud involved members of the expert team - the head cardiologist and a medical registrar.
It was documented how they received orders from at least fifty clients who hoped to avoid conscription or discharge from service.
SBU officers detained all three suspects when they were receiving another bribe for fake medical reports.
During the searches, the SBU found drafts, personal files of the recruits and smartphones with evidence of illegal activity.
The detainees have now been notified of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - for accepting a bribe and for obstructing the work of the Armed Forces. In total, they face imprisonment for up to 10 years.
Earlier in Odesa, a court sentenced a man who forged an SBU ID card. In this way, conscripts could avoid mobilization. The investigation found that the fraudster offered a "service" for $700 for each ID. He made a fake for the first "client" for $200 in advance, and later agreed on five more such documents with a total cost of $3,500.
