Odesa Court Sentences Former Officer to 5 Years for Pro-Russian Support

The Kyiv District Court of Odesa sentenced a former law enforcement officer to five years in prison for supporting the aggressor.
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation found that after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, she openly endorsed the armed aggression, waited for Russian peace, and spread pro-Russian views on social media and among her colleagues. She even threatened to kill those who did not share her position if Russian troops seized Odesa.
The court found her guilty of justifying and recognizing as lawful the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Article 436-2, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Procedural guidance was provided by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutors proved in court that the woman, who holds the position of an investigator at one of the police stations in Odesa, openly expressed dissatisfaction with the current government and supported the actions of the occupiers.
Through her Instagram channel, which had more than 7,000 followers, she disseminated materials that denied and justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, which began in 2014. To hide her activities, she used special software to mask her IP address.
During the trial, the accused did not admit her guilt. She was waiting for the court's verdict in custody.
The Kyiv District Court of Odesa found a Greek citizen guilty of denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine because of his comments to a Greek radio station.
According to the case file, on March 8, 2024, the man gave an interview to the Greek radio station Focus FM 103.6, in which he expressed doubts about Russia's involvement in the destruction of the Transfiguration Cathedral and the Odesa Hotel and hinted that Ukraine should be responsible for the destruction of these facilities.
