In Mykolaiv, the prosecutor's office sent to court an indictment against a 20-year-old resident of the city who organized an illegal channel for the sale of psychotropic substances, including amphetamine, in large quantities. For these crimes, she faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.
Law enforcement officers found that the offender organized an illegal channel for the sale of amphetamine, which was sold through an online store using messengers and delivered throughout Ukraine by post. She used scented candles to disguise psychotropic substances in postal parcels.
During the searches of the suspect's apartment, law enforcement officers seized almost 200 grams of amphetamine and about 500 liters of precursors, which the offender stored in plastic canisters. In addition, the police found cell phones, SIM cards, draft records, and other evidence of her criminal activity. After that, the woman was detained according to the procedural procedure and was notified of suspicion.
She is accused of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 307 (illegal acquisition, storage with intent to sell and sale of a psychotropic substance, committed repeatedly, by prior conspiracy, in a particularly large scale) and Part 3 of Article 311 (illegal acquisition, storage of precursors with intent to use them for the manufacture of psychotropic substances in a particularly large scale, committed by prior conspiracy).
The further fate of the 20-year-old woman will be decided by the court. Under Ukrainian law, she faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property for these crimes.
In early March, law enforcement officers detained a man who was engaged in the manufacture and distribution of drugs in Mykolaiv region. He purchased precursors and manufactured psychotropic substances in his own home, which he then sold to customers.
In addition, in February, the National Police conducted a large-scale special operation in two stages aimed at eliminating an organized criminal group. They organized a network of 18 drug laboratories in six regions of the country, where they produced more than 60 kg of amphetamine every month. The group's illegal profits reached UAH 18 million per month.
