Mykolaiv Prosecutor's Office convicts Kherson resident for trafficking in psychotropics

Following a public prosecution by the Mykolaiv District Prosecutor's Office, the court found a 27-year-old resident of Kherson guilty of large-scale illegal sale and storage of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The court found that the convict was involved in the illegal acquisition, storage with intent to sell and direct sale of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances. In addition, he was charged with the illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances without the intent to sell.
The offender was found guilty under Part 2, Part 3 Art. 307 and Part 1 Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The final sentence is now expected to be announced.
Prosecutors proved that in October 2024, the convict placed 18 polymeric rolls of "bookmarks" with a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance - PVP, near the residential complex "Orange" in Mykolaiv, took pictures of the places of their placement and sent the photos to "customers".
During his detention, law enforcement officers found and seized another 60 polymer roll-ups with especially dangerous psychotropic substances, the trafficking of which is prohibited - MDMA and PVP, weighing a total of 17.8 g, as well as cannabis weighing 8.7 g. The offender was found guilty under Part 2, Part 3 of Art. 307 and Part 1 of Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court verdict has not yet entered into force.
Earlier, a man was sentenced in Mykolaiv for recruiting people to work in Russia. They were deceived into acting as couriers for drug trafficking.
According to the investigation, the accused and his accomplice offered two Ukrainians jobs as couriers abroad, concealing the real purpose - drug trafficking .
The first victim was recruited at the Central Market of Mykolaiv, taking advantage of his difficult financial situation. He was provided with a plane ticket via Odesa, Minsk and Moscow to Nizhnevartovsk and a phone with an app to receive assignments. Upon arrival in Russia, the man was detained by local law enforcement and sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison.
