Police in Kherson region have identified a medical worker involved in falsifying medical reports to evade service. The woman, who also holds a position in the local council, was notified of suspicion, and the investigation is ongoing.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Kherson region.

In Beryslav district, a 65-year-old doctor was investigated on suspicion of helping two persons liable for military service avoid mobilization. Law enforcement officers found that she had helped the men temporarily avoid conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Oleh Malchevsky, head of the Investigation Department of the Kherson Police Department, the woman, who heads one of the district's clinics, was appointed a reserve physician of the freelance military medical commission at the territorial recruitment and social support center (TSC and SP) in December 2022.

Employees of the Strategic Investigations Department received information about possible falsification of medical documents by the doctor. Under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, the police conducted a series of investigative and search operations, which confirmed the involvement of the health worker in illegal actions.

According to the available data, in February 2023, the doctor entered false information in the medical reports of two men during the military medical commission, which resulted in their being recognized as temporarily unfit for military service.

Her actions are classified under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Forgery in office". Since the woman is also a deputy of the Beryslav District Council, the notice of suspicion was served by representatives of the regional prosecutor's office. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway to establish the doctor's motives and all the circumstances of the case. For her actions, she faces restriction of liberty for up to three years.

In the Kherson region, the SBU also exposed a criminal scheme involving extortion and receipt of bribes. The scheme was led by officials of the medical service of the Kherson territorial recruitment center and the military medical commission, who systematically received illegal remuneration for their "services".
