In Kherson region, a man who collected weapons at abandoned Russian positions and then sold them faces up to 7 years in prison.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, law enforcement officers detained a local resident in the Beryslav district. He has already been notified of suspicion under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives).

According to the investigation, the man found a grenade launcher and two grenades at the abandoned positions of the Russian military. However, instead of reporting the find to law enforcement, he decided to illegally sell the weapons.

In March of this year, he sold the grenade launcher and two grenades for 10,000 hryvnias to another man.

The police documented the deal, and the offender was detained. The court has already imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention.

The investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Beryslav District Police Department under the procedural supervision of the local prosecutor's office. The man faces up to 7 years in prison.

Earlier in Kherson, a man who tried to sell an assault rifle was exposed and served a notice of suspicion. After an operative purchase, the man was detained.

Also in Kherson region, another resident of Beryslav district will be brought to court for illegal handling of firearms and ammunition. The accused was collecting weapons and ammunition at the abandoned combat positions of the occupation forces in the Bereslav district of Kherson region. Vysokopillya police seized grenades and ammunition from a local resident. During the search, they found: an RSHG-2 rocket-propelled grenade, 2 RGO grenade cases, an RGD-5 grenade case, 3 UZRGM-2 fuses and 300 rounds of ammunition of various calibers.
