Law enforcement officers exposed a Russian intelligence network that was passing data on military facilities and infrastructure to the enemy. Russia used the information to launch missile and drone strikes. In particular, spies were active in Mykolaiv.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The investigation found that residents of Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv region were members of an agent network that worked for Russia in seven regions of Ukraine. They were coordinated by a Russian curator who sent tasks via Telegram and received intelligence.

The suspects were detained as part of a special operation in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Mykolaiv, as well as in Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro regions. Pre-trial restraints have already been imposed on all suspects.

The suspects collected information about critical infrastructure facilities, locations of the Ukrainian military, their routes, as well as locations for repairing equipment and distributing humanitarian aid.

To collect information, they used car DVRs, parking the car near the object of surveillance, and watching from the nearest food establishments. The enemy used the collected data for missile and drone attacks.

Under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Offices of Khmelnytskyi and Kharkiv regions, five people were served a notice of suspicion of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigation is ongoing under the SBU supervision with the participation of the National Police.

Recently, in Mykolaiv region, the SBU exposed two engineers who were trying to transfer secret developments of a defense company to Russia. According to the investigation, the two men acted separately from each other, but were recruited by the FSB through a mutual acquaintance, a former employee of the plant who now lives in Russia. They face life imprisonment for treason under martial law.

At the end of April, another Russian informant was detained, who transmitted the coordinates of the location of the Armed Forces and military equipment via Telegram. According to the investigation, he was a member of an agent network, part of which was exposed in March, when law enforcement officers detained four people who helped the enemy strike the city.
