In Kherson region, 40 officials are suspected of high treason

Prosecutors in Kherson region have exposed collaborators and accomplices of the occupation authorities. In recent months, 40 people have been served with suspicion notices, and another 15 have been sentenced to imprisonment and confiscation of property.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Based on the evidence gathered, 40 people were notified in absentia of suspicion of crimes against the foundations of national security of Ukraine (Part 7 of Article 111-1, Part 5, 6 of Article 111-1, Part 3 of Article 436-2, Part 2 of Article 111, Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
These individuals voluntarily joined the service of the Russian Federation, held positions in illegal administrations and law enforcement agencies, participated in fake referendums and elections, transferred enterprise resources to the occupiers and spread Russian propaganda.
The suspects include:
- a Russian senator from Kherson region;
- two deputies of local councils of Ukraine (one assisted the Russian special services and military, the other participated in fake elections);
- a former judge's assistant who became a judge of the occupation court;
- nine people who served in the occupation police, the Ministry of Health and penitentiary bodies;
- eight members of the "paramilitary guard of the Kherson railway";
- seven heads of illegal local self-government bodies;
- six organizers of pseudo-elections and deputies from pro-Kremlin parties;
- three former employees of a state-owned plant who transferred resources to the occupiers;
- two heads of educational authorities who implemented Russian standards;
- one head of an illegal body in the field of medicine and veterinary medicine.
In August 2025, prosecutors proved the guilt of another 15 people, who were sentenced to real prison terms with confiscation of property and additional restrictions. Among them are representatives of the occupation's "expert forensic center," "traffic police," "automotive research," and a radio operator of an illegal armed group, the head of the occupation's "Department of Economics and Finance of the Ministry of Emergency Situations."
Also sentenced was the head of Rubintelecom, a 59-year-old resident of Kakhovka, Oleksandr Larchenko, who in 2022 illegally took over the Russian-occupied TV and radio company and was responsible for connecting their structures to the Internet. The court sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
In addition, the "head of the administration" of the Ivanivka municipal district, the director of the seized school in Oleshky, representatives of pseudo-administrations and occupation structures, the so-called "head of Kostohryzove" and the head of the Department of Applied Psychology of the university renamed by the occupiers were sentenced.
