An FSB informant who spied on Ukrainian military airfields in Mykolaiv region was sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. He obtained information through open sources and also went around the area, recording objects for further transfer to the enemy.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU in Mykolaiv region.
According to the SBU, a Russian Federal Security Service informant who spied on the airfields of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mykolaiv was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The 35-year-old unemployed local resident was detained in November 2023.
The convict collected intelligence on the location and movement of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the region, in particular, on military airfields with combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He received the information through personal contacts and open sources, and also walked around the area, recording objects to pass this data to the Russian occupiers.
The SBU documented the informant's criminal activities and detained him during a search of his home, where they found a cell phone with an anonymous chat room for communication with the FSB.

During the investigation, it was established that the man began to cooperate with Russian special services in the summer of 2023, when he published anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels. He kept in touch with Russian agents remotely through "contacts", one of whom was pro-Kremlin blogger Serhiy Lebedev.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found the spy guilty of violating Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Recently, the Security Service of Ukraine neutralized another agent group of Russian special services in Mykolaiv, detaining four people who were in charge of drone strikes on the city. In addition, the SBU CI detained a 35-year-old recidivist who was recruited while serving a sentence in a Russian penal colony and was involved in adjusting air strikes on the city.
At the same time, the Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv is considering the case of Eduard Shevchenko, former commander of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center and former official of the Ochakiv City Council, who was accused of treason for his cooperation with Russian special services.
