Former treasurer from Crimea made a career in the Russian government

An occupation official from Crimea, who defected to the enemy after 2014, will be tried in Ukraine. He is charged with high treason and working in the structures of the occupation authorities.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Law enforcement officers sent an indictment to the court against the so-called "Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Crimea". He is charged with high treason and collaboration.
According to the investigation, the accused previously headed the Department of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine in Simferopol district. After the occupation of Crimea in 2014, he betrayed the oath of a civil servant and joined the Russian authorities.
The traitor worked in several occupation structures, including the "Department of Finance of the Simferopol District Administration", the "Department of the Treasury Service" and the "Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Republic of Crimea". In September 2023, the man took the position of "Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Crimea," which he still holds.
According to the press service, by his actions, he contributes to the implementation of the policy of the aggressor state and ensures the functioning of the occupation authorities on the temporarily occupied peninsula.
The accused faces up to 15 years in prison. The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The prosecutor's office traditionally does not disclose the name of the accused. However, according to the Center for Investigative Journalism, it is Andriy Klishchevsky, born in 1976. From 2006 to 2011, he held various positions in the Main Department of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and from December 2011 to March 2014 he headed the Treasury Service in the Simferopol district.
Dmytro Korzhov, former deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Crimea, was also sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison. Since 2012, he had worked in the internal affairs system, was responsible for public security, and after the occupation of the peninsula, he betrayed his oath and joined the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he became deputy chief of the public order police in Yalta.
