Convicted ex-employees of Odesa Railways appealed against the verdict of the Anti-Corruption Court

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has decided to consider an appeal against the guilty verdict in the Silk Road case filed by four convicted of embezzling more than UAH 98 million in Odesa region.
This decision was made on June 5 by the HACCU's Presidential Administration, Slovo i Dilo reports.
As you know, the anti-corruption court found Ruslan Husak, the former head of the Liski Transportation Service Center branch of UZ, and three other people guilty. Ruslan Gusak was sentenced to 9 years in prison with a ban on holding managerial positions at enterprises, institutions, organizations, regardless of ownership, and confiscation of all property for 3 years. Others were also imprisoned. Gusak was taken into custody in the courtroom. Appeals have been filed against the verdict.
"To open appeal proceedings on appeals against the verdict of the High Anti-Corruption Court of April 30, 2025. To set a deadline of June 13, 2025, during which the participants in the court proceedings may file written objections to the appeals to the court of appeal," the decision says.
In early May, a panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court passed a verdict against four defendants in the Silk Road case of embezzlement of over UAH 98 million from Ukrzaliznytsia in Odesa region.
The former first deputy head of the Odesa branch of the Liski Central Transportation Center and the former chief engineer of this branch were found guilty of the same crimes. They were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 8 years, with deprivation of the right to hold managerial positions in enterprises, institutions, organizations, regardless of ownership, for a term of 3 years and confiscation of all property in their possession; with a fine of UAH 4,250 each. The defendants were placed under round-the-clock house arrest as a measure of restraint.
