A foreigner and a military man demanded a non-existent debt from a Mykolaiv resident

The Mykolaiv Special Prosecutor's Office sent to court an indictment against a foreign national. Together with an accomplice, he extorted USD 5,000 from a local resident, threatening to kill him for a fictitious debt.
This was reported by the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.
Under the fictitious pretext of repaying the 'debt', the offenders exerted psychological pressure on the local resident for several months, threatening him with murder and beatings. They repeatedly made appointments with the man and threatened him to transfer money.
During one of these meetings, the foreigner hit the victim on the head, showing him an object that looked like a firearm, and took his car keys as a 'guarantee' of repayment of the 'debt'.
In June 2025, during a controlled operation, the victim handed over the rest of the money to the offenders. After that, the foreigner was detained by law enforcement, and the court took him into custody without bail. His accomplice, a servant of the TCC, fled the scene and is currently wanted.
The accused is charged with extortion committed by a group of persons during martial law, robbery and illegal acquisition and storage of drugs (Part 4 of Article 189, Part 4 of Article 187, Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main National Police in Mykolaiv region, with the operational support of the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region.
Earlier, under the public prosecution of the District Prosecutor's Office of Mykolaiv city, the court found a 27-year-old resident of Kherson guilty of large-scale illegal sale and storage of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
The court found that the convict was involved in the illegal acquisition, storage with intent to sell and direct sale of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances. In addition, he was charged with the illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances without the intent to sell.
The offender was found guilty under Part 2, Part 3 Art. 307 and Part 1 Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The final sentence is now expected to be announced.
Prosecutors proved that in October 2024, the convict placed 18 polymeric rolls of"bookmarks" with a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance - PVP, near the residential complex "Orange" in Mykolaiv, took pictures of their placement and sent the photos to "customers".
