A major overhaul of a lyceum's canteen and dining hall has begun in Mykolaiv Oblast. The project worth more than UAH 12 million will create a hub kitchen that will provide quality food not only for lyceum students but also for other institutions.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.
In Voznesensk, at Lyceum No. 10, a large-scale overhaul of the canteen and dining hall will soon begin. The project, which aims to improve cooking conditions and increase the energy efficiency of the kitchens, is part of a strategy to reform school meals within the city community. The cost of the project is over UAH 12 million, of which over UAH 8.9 million has already been confirmed.

It is planned to spend 250 thousand hryvnias on design and 11 million 802 thousand 372 hryvnias on modernization.
The kitchen modernization involves the installation of modern equipment, replacement of the power grid, ventilation and sewage systems, and the introduction of the latest cooking technologies that meet modern standards. These steps help create safer and more comfortable conditions for the cooks and provide the lyceum's students with high-quality and safe food.
Another aspect of the project is the implementation of the "Hub Kitchen" model, which allows the use of a single basic kitchen for cooking not only for Lyceum #10, but also for other educational institutions that do not have their own food service. This cost-effective solution will help to significantly reduce the cost of catering in schools where independent cooking is impractical.

The project has received support at the local level, and design work has already begun. The work will start in March 2025 and will last until the end of the year.
In addition, the Tokarivka village plans to reconstruct the canteen of the Kolosiv Lyceum, for which more than UAH 36 million is provided. Funding is planned to be increased over the course of 2025. In addition, Zelenyi Yar plans to overhaul the radiation shelter at the lyceum, but the local authorities have so far been able to allocate only 5% of the remaining UAH 14 million. The project is aimed at creating a safe and modern shelter in accordance with civil protection standards.
