Mykolaiv plans to build a new water filtration system and modernize existing infrastructure facilities. This will require more than UAH 6 billion.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.
The goal of the project is to provide Mykolaiv with stable and high-quality water supply through the construction of a pressure filtration system, which will improve the quality of drinking water and increase the reliability of water supply.
The construction project was initiated by Mykolaiv City Council and executed by Mykolaivvodokanal. The construction project of the pressure filtration system and water intakes is related to the goals set out in the document "Mykolaiv Territorial Community Development Strategy".

The main stage of the project includes the construction of a modern drinking water filtration system. As part of this phase, new water treatment equipment will be installed.
Results expected from the project implementation:
- Reliable and stable water supply for Mykolaiv.
- Noticeable improvement in the quality of drinking water.
- Changing the dependence on a single source of water supply by creating an additional water intake.
- Increased resilience of the water supply system to climate change and technical risks.
- More efficient water management through the reconstruction of the reservoir.
The project budget is UAH 6 billion 103 million 650 thousand. According to the description of the project "Sustainable Water Supply in Mykolaiv", from January 2026, it is planned to build a pressure filtration system with an existing water intake from the Ingulets River. In 2028, the reconstruction of the Zhovtnevyi Reservoir is planned, and in 2029, the construction of a new water intake on the Pivdennyi Buh River.

Powerful filtration equipment will also be installed to enable water purification in the pressure mode, which will increase the system's performance and reduce energy costs.
The company plans to spend EUR 71 million on the construction of the pressure filtration system in the first phase and EUR 63 million in the second phase. EUR 84 million will be spent on the reconstruction of the Zhovtnevyi reservoir and EUR 128.8 million on the construction of a new water intake.
The project will be implemented from October 2024 and requires funding.
And the South Ukrainian NPP plans to install a diagnostic system with artificial intelligence. Such systems will also be installed at two more nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The goal of the project is to increase production productivity. The estimated budget of the project is 392 million.
Mykolaiv also plans to modernize its energy infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted power supply to local electric transport. It is planned to raise more than UAH 64 million for this purpose.
