After Roman Mrochko was dismissed from his position as head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, his relatives became the owners of a house measuring nearly 600 square meters near Kyiv, and his wife purchased a Lexus.

This is reported in a story by Bihus.Info.

According to the journalists, in the spring of 2025—about a month after Mrochko’s dismissal—his relatives acquired a house in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv. The building has an area of nearly 600 square meters.

This house is not listed in Mrochko’s financial disclosure statement. Officially, it belongs to his parents and sister.

Also, according to the journalists, Mrochko’s wife became the owner of a 2023 Lexus RX in May of this year.

In 2024, Roman Mrochko, then head of the Kherson City Council, explained the importance of building underground schools for the city’s children. He also issued a letter of guarantee: once the underground schools were completed, children would return to in-person or hybrid learning in classrooms. These were the conditions for receiving funds from the state subsidy.

In October 2026, construction was halted. Currently, all underground schools in Kherson remain unfinished.

The new head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, stated that as long as Kherson remains in a state of active hostilities, it is impossible to conduct classes there, even if the schools are completed. Contracts with all contractors have been terminated.

“Construction was deliberately carried out in violation of regulations, ignoring safety standards and design requirements,” Shanko stated.

Criminal cases have been opened, and investigations are ongoing. Contractors managed to receive tens of millions of hryvnias for work that showed signs of poor quality and inappropriateness. According to the report, these funds were not reimbursed to the community, and no charges have been filed against anyone.

It is worth noting thatMrochko headed the Kherson Regional State Administration for just over a year. He was appointed to the position in March 2023 and dismissed in April 2024. In 2025, Mrochko became a deputy at the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense in the Southern Region.

Intent has previously reported on what the head of the Kherson Regional Anti-Corruption Bureau had declared earlier.
