Deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council have declared almost half a billion hryvnias in savings for 2025. They keep most of these funds in cash, and hundreds of millions more in the form of loans to third parties.

This data was published by journalists from the Center for Public Investigations and Media Intent, who analyzed the declarations of 48 city council members.

The largest savings were declared by Serhiy Kantor - UAH 171 million. This is more than the total wealth of the other deputies in the top five. His assets increased by UAH 17 million over the year. Most of the money - 110 million hryvnias - was lent to third parties. He keeps tens of millions more in cash in foreign currency and in bank accounts.

The second place was taken by Mykola Kapatsyna with almost UAH 70 million in savings. The MP keeps a significant part of his funds in cash in euros, dollars and hryvnias, and he has lent over UAH 29 million to third parties.

Svitlana Babarika is in third place with 37.8 million hryvnias in savings. She keeps almost all of her funds in foreign currency cash, and has only a few thousand hryvnias in bank accounts.

The top five also includes Oleksandr Medvedev and Artem Ilyuk. Most of their savings are also in foreign currency cash.

In total, 48 MPs declared UAH 484 million in savings. Of this amount, 483 million is in cash. At the same time, nine MPs did not indicate any savings at all in their declarations.

The journalists also paid attention to MPs who officially have no savings of their own, but have significant amounts registered to their family members. In particular, Oleksandr Bereza has all 11.5 million hryvnias registered to his wife. Several other city council members have a similar situation.

As a reminder, members of Mykolaiv City Council declared over UAH 131 million in income in 2025 and UAH 293 million in savings.
