Head of Ukrposhta in Mykolaiv region accused of misappropriating pensions

In Mykolaiv region, law enforcement officers exposed the head of one of the branches of Ukrposhta JSC, who is suspected of misappropriating budget funds. The money in question was intended to pay pensions and various types of state aid to the population.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, during August-October 2025, the official, taking advantage of her official position, illegally seized funds that were to be paid to recipients through the post office. The total amount of misappropriated money exceeds UAH 220 thousand.
The prosecutor's office clarifies that these funds were intended to pay pensions, state social benefits, subsidies and privileges to residents of the region. Instead, they did not reach the rightful recipients.
The head of the department was served a notice of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - misappropriation of another's property on a large scale through abuse of office. The sanction of this article provides for punishment, including imprisonment.
Currently, law enforcement officers have filed a petition with the court to impose a house arrest as a measure of restraint on the suspect. The pre-trial investigation in the case is being carried out by the Investigation Department of the Voznesensk District Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.
Also in Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion of misappropriation of budget funds to the head of a city utility company. He currently faces up to 12 years in prison. He is the head of Mykolaiv's specialized installation and maintenance enterprise (KSMEP), Hryhoriy Patoka.
According to the investigation, the official, abusing his official position, knew for sure that the traffic lights had not been delivered under the contract, but approved and made full payment for them. As a result, the budget of Mykolaiv suffered losses of over UAH 1.2 million. The case concerns the purchase of 68 traffic and pedestrian traffic lights.
