A lawmaker from the Odesa region lied on his wife's financial disclosure form

Inaccurate information totaling nearly 6 million hryvnias was found in the 2024 financial disclosure statement of Oleg Kirev, a member of the Tairovka Village Council .

This is stated in the conclusion of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK) following a comprehensive audit of the official’s financial disclosure statement.

One of the key issues in the audit was the family’s cash savings. In 2024, the deputy’s wife declared $140,000 in cash. Kirev explained that she had received these funds from the sale of two bitcoins. However, the couple did not provide any documents confirming that these cryptocurrency transactions had taken place.

The NACP also identified discrepancies in the information regarding the deputy’s wife’s assets. Specifically, this concerns eight vehicles, including a KIA K5, a Hyundai Sonata, and a Volkswagen Golf. The family member failed to provide some of the information regarding the vehicles, such as the dates of acquisition, models, and values.

In addition, the audit identified inaccuracies regarding 12 real estate properties. These include a residential house with an area of 275.7 square meters, apartments, non-residential premises, and land plots.

The declaration also listed shares in the SkyWay (SWC) project. The NACP noted that the National Securities and Stock Market Commission classifies this project as a quasi-investment scheme with characteristics of a pyramid scheme.

Separately, NACP experts found that Kirev failed to disclose information about foreign passports belonging to him, his wife, son, and daughter.

The total amount of inaccurate information identified during the review of the lawmaker’s declaration amounts to nearly 6 million hryvnias.

As Intent previously reported, inaccurate information totaling more than 2 million hryvnias was found in the 2024 declaration ofTetyana Pamirska, the former head of the secretariat of the Kherson City Council.

Additionally, an “invisible” wife and unreported assets were discoveredin the declaration ofLeonid Remiga, the former director of a Kherson hospital.
