Mykolaiv has invested millions in school shelters: where will the repairs be done

In Mykolaiv, it is planned to equip shelters in two educational institutions. The contractors are to complete the work by the end of September and November 2025.
This is evidenced by the data of the public procurement system Prozorro.
Zakhyst, a municipal enterprise of the Mykolaiv City Council, has announced two tenders for the construction of simple shelters in local educational institutions. The total expected cost of the work is almost UAH 9.4 million.

The first tender concerns Lyceum No. 22 on Rabocha Street. It is planned to carry out current repairs and arrange a shelter for UAH 5.67 million. The works are to be completed by November 30, 2025.
The second tender is for similar works at gymnasium No. 10 on Bohoyavlensky Avenue. UAH 3.72 million is allocated for this purpose. Here, the selected contractor must complete the work by September 30. In both cases, the procurement is carried out through an open bidding procedure with special features.

According to the documentation, the contractor for the gymnasium will receive a 30% advance payment after signing the contract, and the rest - after completion of the work. In the case of Lyceum No. 22, full payment is provided after the services are rendered. Both tenders involve final construction works. Bids will be accepted until June 26, and the auctions will take place on the same day.
Also, the Department of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports of the Oleksandrivka Village Council announced a tender for the construction of a new radiation shelter at the Oleksandrivka Taras Shevchenko Lyceum, for which more than UAH 44 million was allocated from the city budget.
In addition, four modern shelters are being completed in Mykolaiv, one of which has already received its first pupils. The total cost of the project is over UAH 45 million. The underground premises have been converted into full-fledged educational spaces where children can study, play and relax even during air raids. The shelters are equipped with study areas, playrooms, and sleeping areas with beds.
